VHL Hall of Fame Adds Voodoo

NEW YORK - As anyone who has visited the Victory Hockey League Hall of Fame knows, it is the ultimate shrine to the legends, heroes and even the mortals who have played in the VHL. From gear worn by players during historic moments to the stories of the best players to grace the VHL, countless items commemorating the forty year history of the league fill the building to the brim. However, the Hall of Fame has received several items that tell a familiar story from an entirely different perspective: voodoo dolls made of the three goalies they were made to hinder.

"We're very pleased to have gotten the complete set, so to speak," said VHL Commissioner Jardy Bunclewirth. "The voodoo dolls were a good luck charm of sorts for the HC Davos Dynamo during their run at the top of the VHL in the last couple of seasons and having them here in the Hall of Fame will help keep their unique story alive for future generations to learn about."

The dolls, depicting Toronto Legion goalie Remy LeBeau, Riga Reign goalie Mike Szatkowski Jr. and New York Americans goalie Brick Wahl have not yet been placed on display, but are expected to be added to an exhibit by the end of the week.
