The season is 22 games old and the Americans show a 14-8-0 record, good enough for a fourth place in the NA conference and a eight place league wide. If it was not for Calgary's Cinderella story, which like the Spanish Inquisition no-one expected, they could easily be third in the NA. So far the Northamerican conference is very tight knit, as between the 2nd placed and the 6th placed team there are only seven points difference. As of the time of writing this article, CGY is looking to set new personal offensive records once more, while stil holding down the New York fort.

While the team's defence is relatively stable, 36xW could not confirm their stellar performance of their rookie season. This has certainly nothing to do with the Mongolian's attitude or work ethic, but is related to the rule changes of last season regarding the netminder equipment, as the league deemed that not enough goals were scored and the TV attendance dropped. This of course crippled the league's earning potential and hence measures had to be taken to make the league great again.

On the upside, the Americans' powerplay is one of the best in the league, while the boxplay is middle of the pack. Alas the team's time to compete is now and maybe next season as well, before the ELC expire and the Empire State franchise face cap issues. The team is well rounded, despite some shortage on forward depth and everyone and their mother is chipping in and doing their part. This team is committed to break the longest cup draught in written history (maybe apart from the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs). And the Alternate Captain wants to be a part of this.

From the different sources around the VHL it is said that Callum is one of the defensively best trained players in the league. He is considered to be on a level with Skor McFleury and his team mate Analfist. Francesco Mancini, who played with Janser in New York, was quoted that the Swiss defender is gentle and caring off the ice, giving the shirt off of his back for his fellow man. But as soon as he steps on the ice, he becomes a mean SOB, lowering the Boom™️ and dropping the mitts, if and when necessary. The Calgary native does nothing half-assed and finishes his checks. He is relentless in defending the own net and has set up his team mates twenty-four times in this season already to score on the opposing goal.

On a more personal perspective, Callum lost his roomie to the European Conference, as the 'Nagasaki Nightingale' Rin Kagamine took her skills to overseas and laces her skates for the Riga Reign now. Said franchise recently underwent a change on a managerial level, when Benjamin Zeptenbergs surprisingly stepped down after a very long Reign (pun intended) which is only outlasted by Blake Campbell's iron grasp to the Bear's manager position.

Be this as it may, we are convinced that CGY will continue to display tenacity, dedication and leadership, one has gotten used to expect from a Janser family member.

We will revert with more news as soon as possible, please find in the interim CGY's stats for this season:

22gp, 4g, 24a, 28pts, +1, 57 PIM, 72 hits, 50sb, 2ppg, 1gwg, 1 First Star nomination, 1-0-2 fighting record
