Recently, the Victory Hockey League has seemed to have goaltending issues. Many teams are in need of a long-term solution in net, and general managers have even called out for more goalies to enter the draft. And if rumors are to be believed, a part of the solution could be coming soon.

University of Vermont senior goaltender Callum Sinclair has, in the eyes of many, proven himself to be a solid professional prospect. He has been a consistent starter for the Catamounts over the past three years, and arguably one of the NCAA’s best goalies during this time. However, despite all of this, Sinclair has been passed over twice upon entering the NHL draft due to perceived attitude issues. Says one NHL scout, “He’s got an incredible amount of raw talent and ability, and there’s no doubting that. However, I don't think he has the work ethic to improve his game enough to be an NHL player."

At 21 years old, Sinclair is past the age at which he could enter the NHL draft, and could follow the route that many others have by trying to join a smaller league like the ECHL and work his way up. However, recent reports state that Sinclair has expressed interest in joining the VHL and plans to work his way towards joining the league. Only time will tell whether or not Sinclair will actually join the Victory Hockey League, and if so, when.
