Almost ten seasons ago at the S87 VHL draft the following sentence was said "With the 10th overall pick, HC Davos Dynamo are pleased to select, from the San Diego Marlins, David Jokinen"! Over the course of their 9 season VHL career, Jokinen would become the longest tenured captain in Davos history (tied for the league's longest), and would break the record for the most games played for Davos at 648. Over the course of those 648 Jokinen would produce well with a total of 120 goals and 479 points! With their best season coming in S93 where they would break the 100 point mark for the 1st and only time in their career, earning themselves a spot on the second all-VHL team. In S89 Jokinen would lead Davos back to the Continental Cup Finals, where they would defeat the Vancouver Wolves to win the franchises 1st Cup in over 30 seasons! While following S91 Davos would enter a rebuild and Jokinen would stick around through the process and serve to mentor the young players coming through the ranks, in doing so they would play an integral role in Davos returning to the playoffs in S95 and advancing to the conference finals despite being massive underdogs. Jokinen imbodied putting the team first, and it is with great pleasure we are able to retire their number today! Congrats @Ahma!

I am really honored to have my jersey retired for the third time! :dav: it's always magical (here's hoping for more to come! ;)

The S89 Cup run was also something out of this world, something I could never forget

forever etched in the history books 😎
