Joseph Poole-RW 169 TPE

@Itz_Viperz

Poole was a First Gen Waiver Pickup for Halifax who only notched 6 Points in 48 Games Played with the team. Although Poole didn't have the best performance in first season with a pretty crowded forward core, his build shows significant improvements in the right direction. Being taken at 1st Overall, Poole gives an empty and desperate Saskatoon team someone they can use for multiple seasons and mold into their star forward of the future.

Kazuma Satou-D 312 TPE

@Spartan

Satou going to Las Vegas seems like the easy pick. His talent would be wasted on Saskatoon and Vegas could use a stud defenseman to round out their blueline. Being the highest rated defenseman in the draft, Satou provides 1 season of play before he moves on to the big leagues, but I think Vegas can take that risk in order to have a season where they are in the running to compete for the Founder's Cup.

Mikko Tuomala-D 258 TPE

@flyersfan345

The second highest rated defenseman in the draft would be a phenomenal pickup for Houston. Houston is only really missing one defensive piece and Tuomala would easily fill that hole. Having a 3rd Overall in this top heavy VHLM draft really helps a team like Houston round out their already near complete roster and makes them a surefire pick to be the best team in the league in S97.

CJ Daniels-RW 212 TPE & Hater Tottingham-LW 209 TPE

@xNJDevilsFanx & @Trunkxolotl

San Diego has a top flight Goalie and a stacked blueline already. However, they are desperate for forwards. Taking Daniels and Tottingham gives San Diego that firepower they need up front that they can further build around in the later rounds.

Peter Venkman-D 136 TPE

@Josh

Mexico is in desperate need of two things Defense and Goaltending. Taking Venkman at 5th gives Mexico a top earning D-man that will grow over the next 2 seasons alongside the current Forward core. He should help Mexico be a competitive team for S98.

Jack Jack-D 172 TPE

@Uncommon

Much like Poole, I think Jack will be the defenseman Saskatoon can use for many seasons and build their team around. Saskatoon needs more reliable long term depth pieces now before they can afford to take the big time earners who will make a difference. He can be a cornerstone defenseman for 3+ seasons in Saskatoon.

Cardinal Copia-RW 156 TPE

@Beketov

Yeah now you can stop screaming at your screen about how dumb I am and how do I not have Copia going 1st Overall, I must be so incredibly stupid. And while all that may be and probably is true, I do think Copia could and probably will go 1st Overall. However, I think Saskatoon taking Copia would be a mistake. Saskatoon is in a state where they have no future or present. They need players who will be around for 3+ seasons and someone like Copia doesn't do that for them. They will get 2 seasons out of Copia and that is it and then he will be used as trade bait for more picks. Saskatoon has already been doing this with other players and they've been punting their rebuild down the road. That's why I think Copia will be a much better decision for Ottawa who can use that bait to thrust their rebuild forward and have a fairly decent team while doing so.

Zak Trokker-LW 156 TPE

@Peace

Mississauga won the Founder's Cup just in time, because this year is not looking good for them. The rebuild is starting and that makes someone like Trokker a perfect pick for the Hounds to start the rebuild process around. He will serve as a vital piece to the lackluster forward core.

Sidney Sheppard-C 142 TPE

@GoodLeftUndone

Much like Mississauga, Philadelphia has entered their rebuild. As they already have a goaltender, I would expect the Reapers to take the best position player left. Sheppard could be a great piece for Philadelphia's future, but that will take some time for them to get to a spot where they can compete again.

Interesting choices here, but you did justify them. I’m curious to see how it’ll shake up tonight

Yeah I wanted to do more of a take on who I think GMs should take. @Baby Boomer will have a VSN Mock Draft you will probably agree with more.
