The history an future of Gooning it up

The return of the Komarov family, season 100 will mark the return to the VHL for a long respected family. Dating back into the 40s, starting off with Vladimir Komarov, then Sergei, Evgeni, then Kazimir. Each player a massive giant, Vlad was a defensive defensemen who put in full focus shutting down opponents. Sergei was a 2 way center who could score goals with the best of them with one of the best rookie seasons ever. 

 

Then came Evgeni, who was a pure goon he still sits 6th all time for penalty minutes, he was in there a few other times, aswell as hits, but it seems those days are over as the leagues gone on. Kazimir had a short lived career, as i had a change of heart an pivoted to a new challenge. 

 

My last serious challenge was a goalie Vesvold Askarov, he had a fairly successful year with some great numbers. Though Askarovs career fell short, as my life got hectic. Lastly was a failed comeback attempt, with Tutankamun who lasted not even a VHLM season.

 

Ontop of that i was at one point a VHLM commish, a VHLM GM who won a few titles, and a VHL GM. Currently on my resume is 2 victory cups as a player, 4 VHLM titles( 2 as a player, 2 as just a GM). Combined with a scoring title, GMOTY(Both VHL and VHLM), 2 way forward award, and a playoff MVP award.

I hope with this return to add more to my trophy cabinet. I wish i could remeber how many medals i have in the league too, but that be alot of work to try to dig up. 

 

With Dmitri, Im going back to my roots with Vladimir. I am aiming for a defensive defensemen. With a physical edge to his game, i want to envoke old school hockey. Throw the body, protect my goalie, an stick up for my teammates. I wont promise to be the highest earner out of my class, but the advantage of making a focused build means less points needed to make me effective. 

 

What you are getting in Komarov, an my extention the person known as gooningitup. Well if you ask most people who remember me, you will find im a good guy. I am not perfect, an i have a temper sometimes. Though as i have aged that has mellowed more, as i would rather be happy then right. 

I am excited to get back into the swing of things, though ill admit as an older person its not as easy as i think. I am here to have fun, an talk hockey with people. As a caps fan, this season has been great for some pretty obvious reasons. I do have a family an a company i run. So i wont be super active, but i will make sure to be around as much as possible.
