Americans forward Tom Slaughter has what some would call an unprecedented run of success since joining the VHLM seven seasons ago. In that time, the centre has been a part of two VHLM championship teams, four victory cup winning New York teams consecutively, two continental cups with New York, two super cups, and finally one World Cup with team USA. Slaughter is certainly the most awarded team player in the league currently and as his contract expires after season 42 there remains many questions about his playing future. He has been a key cog in the New York dynasty, but the forward is said to covet winning more championships over individual accolades or franchise records. With much of the current core of the Americans aging or retiring soon, Slaughter may find himself either a valuable trade commodity or heavily pursued free agent at the conclusion of season 42. Another alternative could exist in the current Americans re-tooling while keeping the veteran forward in tow. Slaughter is said to be open to all options at this point.
