What do you mean? Lighting isn't just one layer you put on at the end, it's the entire dynamic created throughout the sig.

I don't see any lightness in it, just seems really dark and flat. I get marked down for it all the time, so I'm trying to see how you pros do it, but I feel like I'm missing it here?

Sure, but it doesn't look like there's any at all. It looks flat as someone's stretched out balls.

Lighting and Light source is different. In this case, there's no additional light source. The light comes naturally from the original picture. I might say this is a dark sig but the lighting is there, you can see it on his face, on his back etc.

I suppose... all I know is when I turn in sigs where the renders look like that, I get told it looks like ass. All I'm sayin.
