Looking back at his two seasons pulling on the New York Americans' sweater, veteran winger Christoph Klose sighs wistfully. "If I had come to this league 10 seasons earlier, we would have been one of the best teams ever. Between Low and Xin and Jody and Matty and everybody else, we would have been unbeatable. But I'm not the player I used to be, I can't play the same style anymore, so I'm trying to be a role-player, a mucker and grinder. My scoring touch came back for the most part, but sometimes my brain works faster than my body now and that complicates things. There's some re-learning going on still, but I'm confident I can be a key part of this team moving forward."

Klose recently signed a two year extension with the Americans and seems confident about his decision. "This is a team of destiny. I never ever ever ever want to leave. And why would I? I get to put up my points, throw some hits, lead the forwards in shot blocks, and go to bed each night in the Big Apple.”
