Perhaps he is overlooked at times, but It is quite impressive to see the accomplishments of Xin Xie Xiao over his time in New York.  The physical winger may not have won much in the hardware category, but his career statistics will put him very much in play for the VHL Hall of Fame when all is said and done.

Xin Xie Xiao finished his time with the Americans with 310 goals and 662 points, good enough for second and third best in team history.  In fact, if he was played a final year in New York, he would only need 53 goals and 113 points to lead in both categories, which seems rather feasible for a guy of Xiao’s talents.  What may be just as impressive is the fact that he is the team’s all-time leader in hits and game-winning-goals as well.  Xiao finished with 2074 hits (almost 400 better than the next name on the list) and 59 GWG’s (which is eleven better than Odin Tordahl).

Maybe he won’t have quite the success in Cologne he was hoping for, or maybe he will…regardless, his legacy in New York is set in stone and it likely involves a banner with his name and number on it.  Perhaps it even involves a Hall of Fame induction as well.

not overlooked by me anymore - between me updating his player page and researching him for the Player Profile sectin of KnightTime - he's had a terrific career so far. Sad to see him leave NYA to be honest. But all the best to him.
