It seems like the reincarnated version of future Hall of Famer Defenseman Edwin Encarnacion is continuing from where his previous incarnation left off, by shitting all over the VHL all-time record books. Encarnacion, as everyone should be aware, holds the records for most all-time hits and penalty minutes for a defenseman and also ranks second all-time in shots blocked. Reencarnacion, still only in his rookie season, has been quick to join Encarnacion in the record books with a quite phenomenal output in the penalty shootout. As it stands right now, Reencarnacion has converted all four of the penalty shots that he’s taken, which means he’s had more successful penalty shots than any other player with a 100% record in VHL history. Quite how Reencarnacion’s record has been that good is somewhat of a mystery, but one wonders how long the Americans will elect to keep Reencarnacion in his current spot in the shootout lineup considering his terrific form. At this moment, Reencarnacion is the fourth player in the lineup, meaning that there’s no guarantee that Edwin takes a shot should a shootout arise, which I guess makes the fact that he’s currently second in the league in penalty shot goals this season even more impressive.
