What happened when HC Davos Dynamo General Manager Jack Reilly decided to set up a “team-bonding event”? Of course everyone on the team was excited about it! Dynamo’s season hasn’t started as well as everyone was hoped for, so it was a very good idea to set up something like this. After this not-so-good start of the season, the team-bonding event was a refreshing idea. After some time everyone on the team was contacted and a time for the event was suitable for everyone.

So, what exactly happened?

The meet-up place was agreed in advance, and from there we went to do some winter sports. Skiing and snowboarding were two activities done of the get go. First we tried some skiing, surprisingly enough everyone was pretty good at it! But there were 2 guys who weren’t very good at it… James Faraday and Oskars Harumpf. Faraday probably has never skied before in his life, so it’s understandable. However, Harumpf? Only the man himself knows why he is so bad at it. After an hour or so we went to snowboarding. Because skiing was kind of boring, everyone agreed on that. When we went to the snowboarding hill, Harumpf was more than excited and surprised everyone by being a beast at snowboarding! Faraday was bad at it again. In both of those sports Komarov was the best. All that time GM Jack Reilly was at the closest coffee shop sipping coffee coffee.gif and eating donuts donuts.png?w=584 while talking to our non-existent coaching staff.

After snowboarding we had a choice to go to either snowmobiling or bowling. All of the older veterans decided to go bowling (like every old person) (and by older veteran, I mean the Season 39, Season 40 players not the players age). They fitted very well with the elderly folks in the bowling place. Although, Mason Richardson probably wanted to look young so he went snowmobiling with the younger guys. While older guys had a bowling contest, the younger players had a snowmobile race. That race ended with Valmount winning by far. He was 1 min 38 seconds faster than anyone else. That’s because Valmount grew up in Finland’s Lapland and he is very familiar with snowmobiles. He has been dealing with snowmobiles since he was six years old.

Before going to different activities, Reilly told us to meet within the next two to three hours at the coffee shop he has been at drinking coffee all day. Then everyone met up there and went to The Masonry restaurant bar. In there the team drank and had fun. Though, Harumpf just ate and ate as much food as he could. Everyone on the team wondered why he was so short. But his weight is not a wonder! A plus was that Reilly paid all the bills for the squad.

It was already pretty late but they went to one last place, Casino Davos. Valmount, McJustice, Richardson, Faraday and Sinclair went to play the tables. The others just went to the bar. Valmount and the others, who went to play, had fun. When Sinclair and Faraday both lost too much money, they had to stop. However McJustice, Valmount and Richardson continued. Simon Valmount and McJustice both went over as both of the gamblers lost lots of money. Freedom McJustice lost around $9000 and Valmount lost $7000. While Richardson was lucky and won the jackpot, he walked out with $5500 in winnings. Lucky bastard. After spending some time in the bar, the team left with a storm behind them. Fortunately, there wasn’t any fights, or was there?

In the end the team-bonding event was very successful and everyone was happy about it. Younger guys got to know better the older guys, and other way around.
