Before pondering whether or not that's an anomaly, you may first ask yourself, "who the hell would possibly name their child Arcturus?" And that would be a very, very fair question. But you see this Ukrainian giant is more than a bizarre name, he also happens to be one of the top up and coming young defenseman in the VHLM. Honing his craft in the heart of mid 20th Century communism, Mengsk has been a sheer force on the Red Wolves blueline this season with his 46 points being good enough for third on that leaderboard for defensemen. But is Mensgk's case really all that curious? He has long been regarded as a two-way player with considerable upside. So should we be surprised to see him grace the leaderboard of several critical stat categories? No. No we shouldn't. So why did we write this article? That's a damn fine question.
