DollarAndADream 3,356 Posted January 9, 2016 Share Posted January 9, 2016 Rookie Showcase Last season, the Toronto Legion made a strong case for the future of their franchise. In Season 46, they had a couple of rookies do great in their first seasons and even one, Zach Parechkin, won the Rookie of the Year with the Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy. Zach Parechkin had 81 points with 36 goals and was one of the top hitters with 303. On the other side of the coin, the Legion's World B. Free had 63 points with 8 goals, along with his 293 hits. WBF was a great consideration for the Christian Stolzschweiger as well, but ultimately Zach Parechkin won it. This season in another one all together, and with both Zach Parechkin and World B. Free in their sophomore seasons, another crop of Toronto rookies come through the fold. These rookies include the likes of LeAndre St. Pierre and Pete Stockton. Both of these players are early favourites to win that trophy in Season 47, and both of them are helping Toronto to become the contender they want to be eventually. Starting off with LeAndre St. Pierre, better known as LSP, he leads the Toronto Legion right now in points, and leads all VHL rookies as well. In the first 4 games, St. Pierre has 5 goals with a total of 8 points. It did not take long for LSP to score his first career VHL goal, as it happened in the first game. LSP has the most shots on his team with 40. Surprisingly enough, although nobody expected him to be physical either, but LeAndre has 0 hits in 4 games. In the VHL these days it seems like a difficult task to not have at least 1 hit, but that's where we stand at the moment. Something even more striking is even though he has 0 hits, he's had 2 fights in 4 games. Now we move on to Pete Stockton. He has been just as promising for the Legion, with 6 points in those 4 games, where 3 of them are goals. Stockton, unlike his rookie teammate St. Pierre, leads the Toronto Legion with 14 hits in 4 games. He has been the most physical guy on the ice for them and has been stepping up in every way. Both of these rookies right now lead the Toronto Legion in points, and that's been amazing for the team overall. So far, they haven't had to depend heavily on top player Max Molholt, and captain Zach Parechkin. World B. Free and Chuck Goody won't have to be so amazing on the blue line either if they can continue to find offense like they have. We will have to see if this can continue for the Legion, or if the odds will steer them off that path.
