With the World Cup returning after the conclusion of Season 48, I will be returning to make the upcoming tournament the subject matter of my upcoming media articles for the remainder of the season. This media article will quickly look over the points I’ll be addressing over the course of the season:

Team Previews

Team Canada

Entering last season’s tournament as the youngest team in the competition, Team Canada failed to reach the medal games as many had predicted. With an extra couple of years under their belt, we’ll see if the likes of Tom Lincoln, Atticus Von Braxton IV and Zach Parechkin can lead Team Canada back on top of the podium after three straight tournaments without a medal

Team USA

Any team would likely struggle to cope with the losses of potential future Hall of Famers like Thomas O’Malley and Mason Richardson, but Team USA’s failure to develop young talent sees them as the most likely team to finish outside of the playoffs. We’ll look at how this dearth of young talent came about and whether there is any hope that Team USA can secure a medal at the Season 48 World Cup.

Team Scandinavia

After the disappointment of missing out on a medal in Season 43, Team Scandinavia bounced back impressively with a Silver Medal in Season 46. However, since then they’ve lost their starting goalie and with no immediate replacement to fill in for Bernie Gow, we’re going to look at the options that Team Scandinavia will have to fill the important hole that has been created.

Team Western Europe

Team Western Europe surprised no-one last tournament in retaining their Gold Medal position from the Season 43 tournament in Season 46. We’ll look at why Team Western Europe once again enter as the favourites in Season 48, while also looking at whether their dominance could instigate a rethink into the distribution of World Cup talent.

Team World

With just a lone Season 43 Bronze Medal to their name since their creation in Season 37, we’ll look at why this tournament is Team World’s best chance at World Cup glory. Hint: They have the two best active skaters in the VHL.

Team Mercenaries

Although there were some criticisms regarding the activity level of the selected Team Mercenaries roster for the Season 46 tournament, the team defied the boo-boys and went on to secure a Bronze Medal, their first medal since their introduction in Season 37. We’ll look at which talents can be expected to be available for selection by the Mercenaries in Season 48.

Special Features

The Unlucky Six

Sometimes regardless of how good a player they were or how good their professional career was, some players just simply were not able to put it together on the international scene. In a special feature, we’ll make a starting line-up of the unluckiest World Cup competitors.

Record Potential

With the World Cup returning back to its original time frame of taking place once every two place, it’s time to return to the record books and see which players can take a run at the records that had been previously untouchable over the last ten seasons.

Review:

Nice write up, man. I'll be interested to see the future article about the World Cup. I have nothing negative to say about this article about future articles. I guess just keep up the good work and I'll keep an eye out for the upcoming articles.
