That isn't to say there were some good player taken in this draft. Round 1, 1st Overall: Quebec City Meute select Defenseman John Sleeman Regular Season: S47 VHL (QUE) - 72 GP | 12 G | 22 A | 34 P | -73 | 32 PIM | 43 H | 167 SH | 1 GWG | 141 SB S48 VHL (QUE) - 72 GP | 13 G | 53 A | 66 P | +15 | 130 PIM | 202 H | 205 SH | 4 GWG | 145 SB Career Reg Season: 2 Seasons VHL - 144 GP | 25 G | 75 A | 100 P | -58 | 162 PIM | 245 H | 372 SH | 5 GWG | 286 SB Playoffs: N/A Sleeman was the best player available in this draft and he was taken 1st overall which surprised no one. He is still arguably the best player still to come from this draft but he is losing his shine after a few weeks of not practising recently. Sleeman went straight into the fire that is the VHL and he came out slightly burnt. He did score 12 goals and assisted on 22 for 34 points which wasn't that bad at all. What catches most people off guard was that he was an incredible -73! I know you're on a bad team but damn, -73. The rest of his stats were decent for a rookie, 43 hits, 141 shots blocked. His 2nd season was so much better you would think that he was on steroids. He scored 13 goals beating his previous high by 1 but he also assisted on 53 beating last years total by 31! His nearly double his point total to 55. He also had a massive improvement in the plus minus area as he finished the season at +15. He also quadrupled his hits to 202 from 43. Overall 100 points in 2 seasons from a first year defenseman is pretty damn good.
