Claimed:Things I'd Like To Make A Media Article About [Reviewed]

Recommended Posts

So we’re ten games into Season 49 and it’s looking like it’s going to be a very interesting season with stiff competition for the playoffs in both conferences. During this season, there’s a lot of media topics that I want to cover but there’s every chance that I don’t get round to it because I am terrifically consistent in hyping up media articles only to either not do them or end a series before their finale. In fact, the last time I did a similar article to this, I hyped up a number of World Cup articles I had planned only to not write any of them! So I’m not guaranteeing that I’m going to write about these, but these are topics that I would like to cover at some point during the end of the season.

Project H2H

At the minute, I’m working on a project to gather up everyone’s head-to-head record against all of their VHL competition since expansion in Season 31. It’s very early in its creation but I’ll be very interested to see how teams match up over that period of time. Since it’s based around regular season matchups rather than playoffs, I wouldn’t be surprised to see teams such as the Meute and the Vikings/Iron Eagles having surprisingly good success against other VHL teams despite only winning one championship between them since expansion.

Trade Records

The idea for this article came about after posting up the New York trade with Davos which saw us receive Bobby Digital for a couple of reasons. The first reason was that the trade title seemed off to me when I posted, and I realised the reason behind that was because this was the first trade between the two teams in twelve years, which was the sign-and-trade which saw the Americans receive Tordahl while Davos would receive the pick that would later become Don Draper. That just seemed like a long period of time for two teams to not be involved in a transaction together, so I’d be interested to see what the longest active gap and the longest ever gap between trades between two teams currently is. The second reason was that we gave up five pieces in that trade and it’s been a while since I’ve seen that many pieces given by one team, so I’ll be interested to research the trades which had the most total assets exchanged along with the record for biggest difference of total assets offered in one trade.

Playoff Watch

While there is a chance that one or two teams stretch out ahead in the race for the playoffs, I can’t see the playoff allocation being settled until, at the earliest, the last five games of the season. Therefore, there will be plenty of opportunities to look at how each team is looking in their race to make the playoffs.

I too think the European playoff race should receive more attention.

Damn didn't realise the trade fact. Winder what the all-time longest wait is.

These are solid ideas. 10/10 would steal.

I'll probably be doing the trade record article next week, so far I've gathered the records for:

- Most Assets In One Trade

- Biggest Asset Discrepancy

- Most Picks In One Trade

- Most Money In One Trade

- Most Three-Way Trades

I'll probably just cover them in that first article, but then I'd like to cover:

- Most trades made by a GM

- Longest Gap Between Two Teams Trading

- Most Trades made between Two Teams

- Least Trades made between Two Teams

Review:

this was a good article, I would enjoy seeing all of these things! Trade tracker would be very cool IMO, though I wouldn't have been around for most of them. I do really find it funny though that you made a media spot about what you want to make media spots about haha.

 480 words :D
