Being a S48 Draft Pick is Hard

I've been looking at my draft class a lot, always hoping I'm passing someone up, and I must say, it's hard being a S48 draftee. Looking at all the great players in this draft, I get a little bit afraid I will be overshadowed by them. I knew Higgins was the Commisioner, and at the time he had made the player with the record for most TPE. There was also two former teammates (and one now current), STZ and Beketov. Not to mention Kendrick, who before this draft had just retired a player who should make the HOF. Needless to say I felt pretty intimidated.

 

This was the draft order of the first round of the S48 draft, if you all remember:

 

1. Black Velvet
2. Unassisted
3. Jakab Holik
4. Tyson Kohler
5. Bogdan Podarok (that's me)
6. Dmitri Da(n)donov
7. Pavel Komarov
8. Kendrick Cole
9. Nikki Kissanen
10. Cian Mercer

 

At the time I had the 7th most TPE in the class. I actually felt the pressure, which was funny because it is a sim league, but I felt like Seattle really took a chance on me and now I had to deliver. And have I? This is the TPE rankings based on each players last update:

 

1. Black Velvet 640 TPE
2. Unassisted 614 TPE
3. Tyson Kohler 574 TPE
4. Jakab Holik 468 TPE
5. Bogdan Podarok 450 TPE (me again)
6. Dmitri Dadonov 443 TPE
7. Pavel Komarov 254 TPE
8. Kendrick Cole 201 TPE
9. Nikki Kissanen 194 TPE
10. Cian Mercer RETIRED

 

So as you can see I'm pretty excited to be delivering on my expectations right now. I'm sandwiched right in between the two goalies, pretty close to both in TPE. With the current season I'm putting together, 3rd in points, leading the league in goals, im hoping that over the rest of this season and the next 5 seasons I can build a good enough resume to land me in the hall of fame. I can dream, right?

 

I'll leave you with this last bit of info: in the S48 draft pool I started off as 7th in TPE and am now 5th. If I was in the S47 draft pool I would have started off as 3rd in TPE and now, despite having one less year to gain TPE, would be ranked 2nd
