Newly announced defender Marty McDouglas has found himself a team in the minors of the Victory Hockey League. Nicknamed The Rat, this agitating defender defines the words old school hockey has signed a $500,000 temporary contract with the Bratislava Watchmen. Marty made the decision in only a day, and his agent Gordon Bombay stated in a press release that McDouglas was simply looking to get in any action he could, with the season winding down. Marty will likely join the Watchmen in the playoffs as well, and will get his first taste of his new league in some high pressure moments. Bombay stated that The Rat loves a good challenge and he looks forward to delivering some bone crunching physical playoff hockey during the Watchmens playoff run. Marty is only with the Watchmen temporarily due to the technicalities of when he decided to join the league. His agent was informed by upper management member EaglesFan in an unusual encounter that he would be drafted at the start of Season 52 to a minor team before being drafted to a big club in season 53. Coming into the league Marty expressed interests through his agent to find a home with a Minnesota based team, however he was saddened when he learned there were none. It is up to him now to represent the spirit and brand of hard nosed Minnesota hockey in the league.

If I were you, I'd gain a great reputation, establish yourself as an an excellent and reliable member, become a VHLM GM, and relocate one of the North American teams to Minny. :D

Well admittedly we don't do too much moving around because that would also mean someone has to design a nice logo, and there's always somebody with some kind of attachment to a location who might push back. And the major league teams are all pretty historic enough that there's not much desire to move them, except maybe Stockholm again. But the minor league teams have the advantage of being a little more free since it's a more cyclical league. But if one is serious enough about a change and is willing to minimize the effort for everybody else, most people are open to it!
