“See Debbie, I told you you’d like them if you just met! Wasn’t tonight fun?” Zach @DollarAndADream was sitting up in bed ready Campbell’s Soup: What It Takes to Be A Star In the VHL.

 

“Yes it was wonderful Zachy,” his wife replied. “Though don’t you think we had a little too much fun?”

 

“What!? Nonsense! T’is the season for making merriment! Now I know you have anxiety about social interactions, but you can’t say that you wouldn’t do that again!”

 

“No, of course no, dear.” Deborah stared into the mirror as she put on her earrings. It was the morning after the dinner with Max and Samantha and she was getting ready to go to Church. Zach was right, she always got nervous in social situations and really the only two places she felt like she could be herself was with Zach and Church. She couldn’t explain it, but they were the only two places where she felt secure, at peace, safe. The problem with this was, she also suffered from FOMO – Fear of Missing Out. When you don’t like to try new things and don’t like to miss things, it’s a bad combination. She had suffered from years of depression from this and if it hadn’t been for Zach and her Church outings… well, who knows? “Are you coming to Church with me today, honey?”

 

Zach glanced at the time and then pounced up. “Oh no! I’m late for practice. No sorry babe – coach will kill me if I take off another practice for Church.”

 

“Isn’t that oppressing of your religious freedom?”

 

“Well, normally yes, but he knows I’m not that religious so I can’t get away with it.” Zach was whizzing around the condo, hopping into his pants and looking for his car keys. Throwing on his coat he gave a swift peck on the cheek of Debbie and said. “Have a good time at Church, babe.” And ran out the door.

Over at the house of @Molholt and Samantha, they seemed rather unsure of things:

 

“Do you think we opened them up to the idea?” asked Samantha.

 

“I don’t think they would have agreed to another night out like that if we hadn’t,” replied Molholt, as he watched some VHL highlights on TV.

 

“Yea but they we both pretty drunk. What if they don’t remember?”

 

“I’m sorry, but when you end an evening like we did, I think that’s not something to easily forget.”

 

“Well can you ask Zach about it at practice if they’re still up for it?”

 

“Oh Sam please, I’m not about to bring it up to him in the changeroom. Why don’t I suggest the four of us get drinks after our game tonight? Then you can bring the cross-kisses up there”

 

Samantha momentarily paused, remembering the foreign kisses from last next. She was very happy with Max and wanted to be with him until the end of days, and he felt the same, but something recently just seemed to be missing and this seemed like a good avenue to explore. Max agreed.

 

“And you’re sure you’re all right with this Max?”

 

“I’ve been Zach teammate for 6 years. I’m basically as comfortable with him as with anyone, as last night proved. You’ve only met Debbie once, are you fine with it?”

 

Sam nodded vigorously. She loved this unique idea. The idea of a husband-wife swap was a familiar concept to everyone… but a wife-wife, husband-husband swap? Now that is something for the ages.

 

Outside, carolers in the distant started singing about decking the halls.
