The Helsinki Titans had a bit of a slow start to the season.  While they were able to record 4 wins in their first eight games and have still yet to lose in regulation, they also lost in overtime four times - plus, each of their first four wins were against teams that failed to make the playoffs in the previous season.  The first step to their possible turnaround was a 4-1 win against the Cologne Express.  With the Express not performing as well as last season so far, it wasn’t quite as impressive but the shot totals were still notable - 38-7 in the Titans’ favor.

However, their win over the rival Stockholm Vikings was a significant one.  Despite getting outshot 24-18, Helsinki won 3-1 thanks to Theo Axelsson, Franchise Cornerstone, and Black Velvet working together for three unanswered goals.  If the Titans can use the momentum from this early win over their biggest rival, they could establish themselves as a real cup contender this season.
