Tagger 2,722 Posted July 24, 2017 Share Posted July 24, 2017 An Unfortunately Timed Recruitment Drive For our tenth anniversary, we decided to give a special incentive of 5 TPE for every member an existing VHL member recruited and while it garnered a lot of recruits, the tenth anniversary of the league came at a really unfortunate time as the recruitment day was on the same day the VHLM regular season ended. This unfortunately meant that a lot of the VHLM teams were either full or had already hit their cap allowance meaning that nearly all of these members won't actually see themselves in the sim for another week or two, which isn't exactly the best first impression. Hopefully though they stick around long enough to see their player go in the VHLM Draft, which is where the fun will pick up for them. Coming Up On Ten Years In Player Leagues I posted this in one of the anniversary threads, but like the VHL, I will also be passing a 10 year milestone this year, but this one is for years in player sim leagues. On December 1st 2007, I created my first guy in a player sim league in the International Sim League, signing for @Strtlght's New Delhi Fighting Mongooses. While I've been in general sim leagues a bit longer than ten years (I originally was in Football GM sim leagues), I never would have guessed ten years ago that the lone sim league I was in was to do with a sport I know nothing about. Did the cut myself though so I guess I was just getting as much usage out of it as possible!
