It has a cartoonish feel to it and I like that.

I really like how you have the color layer over and behind the player. It makes as though he's coming out from within it.

The lighting is pretty even throughout and nothing in the render really over takes anything else in the SIG other than the font.

Your lettering is not my fave style but it does have that comic appeal to it so I think it suite's the SIG. And its bright and bold enough to pop out against the BG and his jersey.

Not digging the top/bottom borders you've put on...they look lost and don't seem to fit in.

This sig is pretty sweet,I love the bg and the colouring used on this sig. The render placement is good, the blending and layering on this sig is simple but effective. I'm a fan of the text placement and like the font you chose. Also the lighting on this sig great, it really stands out and pops., good work.
