TheLastOlympian07 2,388
The Victory Hockey League finals are just underway, the Riga Reign have jumped out to a huge two to nothing series lead in the series. The Bears seemingly have a mountain to climb if they want to come back in the series. Let's look at teams rosters and see how the teams match up. Riga Reign C - Lukas Muller - 776 TPE C - Fred Krigars - 628 TPE LW - Rusty Trombone - 497 TPE LW - John Locke - 630 TPE RW - Phil Shankly - 750 TPE RW - The Process - 204 TPE D - Niko Bogdanovic - 510 TPE D - Slava Aleksi - 442 TPE D - Augustus Gloop - 180 TPE G - Markus King - 918 TPE ---- Total TPE: 5535 TPE Seattle Bears C - Shawn Gretzky - 712 TPE C - Peter Quill - 454 TPE C - Fook Yu - 652 TPE LW - Gabriel McAllister - 774 TPE LW - Xaiver Laflamme - 323 TPE RW - Matthias Forsberg - 540 TPE D - Alesksi Fedorov - 726 TPE D - Fabio Jokinen - 906 TPE G - Vernon Von Axelberry - 570 TPE ----- Total TPE: 5657 TPE As you can see the Bears have more TPE than the Reign. However, what might be making the slightest bit more difference is the 10 players vs 8 players. The Bears have 2 extra CPU players playing rather than the two extra players that the Reign are employing. That means the Reign have an advantage despite being out TPE'd by the Bears. The Process and Gloop with their extra almost 400 TPE seem to make quite the bit of difference since the Reign are up 2-0 in the series. Scoring Leaders John Locke - 7 GP | 9 G | 6 A | 15 P Shawn Gretzky - 9 GP | 5 G | 10 A | 15 P Aleksi Fedorov - 9 GP | 1 G | 14 A | 15 P Fred Krigars - 7 GP | 7 G | 7 A | 14 P Matthias Forsberg - 9 GP | 6 G | 8 A | 14 P Fabio Jokinen - 9 GP | 4 G | 10 A | 14 P Gabriel McAlister - 9 GP | 6 G | 7 A | 13 P As you can see the scoring leaders are littered with Bears but the Bears have also played in 2 extra games. At the top of the pack though is John Locke and his 9 goals and 15 points in just 7 games. He seems to be the front runner for the Playoff MVP trophy right now. Gretzky and Fedorov are in the discussion for it right now too with 15 points of their own. Gretz and Fedorov have been the assist men in the playoffs so far with 24 assists between them. Goalies Markus King - 7 GP | 6 W | 1 L | 0 OTL | 0.933 SV% | 2.01 G.A.A | 1 SO | 223 Shots Against Vernon Von Axelberry - 9 GP | 4 W | 2 L | 3 OTL | 0.892 SV% | 3.37 G.A.A | 0 SO | 295 Shots Against With everything almost being equal in terms of skaters. The difference so far has been goalies. King has been a wall against New York but has softened up against the Bears letting in 6 goals in two games. However, V2A has been the opposite letting in 10 goals in 2 games. His stats have been hampered by this series although they might not have been that great to begin with too. Either way, V2A will have to be a lot better if the Bears want to come back in the series. Conclusion The Bears need V2A to get back to regular season form or else they have no chance at coming back. McAl needs to also get back to form although 13 points isn't so bad but he needs to be scoring like Locke right now. Overall, hopefully the Bears can make a comeback because the league deserves a exciting finals.
