Season 54 saw the Americans coming off back to back championship wins and looking to make it a three peat? It would be very hard considering the Quebec City Meute were making some major noise and even jumped the Americans completely to 1st in the NA with 122 points to the Americans 109. Ravenwing's numbers dipped just a tiny bit to 34 goals and 57 assists for 91 points. The Americans would play in the quarters for the 3rd straight season, maybe all this extra hockey was catching up to them? With just 2 PIM's and 5 hits, Ravenwing was awarded the Most Sportsmanlike Player Award which was the first individual award in his cabinet.

 

The Americans easily swept the 3rd placed Legion team and would move onto the real test in Quebec. It just took Quebec 5 games to defeat the two time defending champions. Ravenwing though, scored 4 goals and assisted on 6 goals for 10 points in 9 games. He was a lone bright spot in the playoffs in which the Americans just couldn't put it all together.

 

Ravenwing was selected for the 3rd time in his career to play for the European Squad. Ravenwing was now one of the teams best players and he produced like one with 3 goals and 10 assists for 13 points. Europe though finished last in the standings with just 6 points, 7 behind of the 5th place team. So it was a big uphill battle but the Europeans couldn't do it. They bowed out in the quarterfinals against Team World. Ravenwing scored 1 goal in the game.

No one knew what to expect in Season 55 from the Americans core who were just one season removed from their 2nd of back to back championships. Ravenwing continued his climb up the top players in the VHL with a great season. Ravenwing scored 43 goals and assisted on 61 goals for 104 points. This was his first 100 point season in his VHL/M career. With a 0 PIM season and just 2 hits, Ravenwing was able to win his 2nd Most Sportsmanlike Player Award. The Americans once again finished 2nd in the NA Conference with 104 points which was 8 points behind the Meute for 1st.

 

For the 4th straight season, the Americans would play in the Quarter-Finals against the Calgary Wranglers. It was a easy 5 game series win for the Americans who would move onto the semifinals for the 4th time in a row. However, it would be against the 1st placed Meute, would it be in the Americans favor this time? The answer was no as the Americans lost in 5 games with all of the games being decided by 2 goals or more. Ravenwing scored 6 goals and assisted on 7 goals for 13 points in 10 games.

 

Season 56 - Riga Reign

In a huge off-season deal, saw the Americans sell off their core trading off Essian Ravenwing, Phil Shankly, Bobby Digital and MT Power to the Riga Reign for a Season 56 Riga 1st (Sergei Komorov), Season 57 Riga 1st (Colton Rayne), Season 58 Riga 1st (Elias Karlsson) and Ilya Kopralkov. It was a pretty even trade with the Reign adding to their core going for the championship while the Americans got two nice young rebuilding blocks while Karlsson seems to be a nice depth player at the moment with potential for more.

 

In his new digs, Ravenwing continued his scoring ways with 45 goals and 82 assists for 127 points which were all career highs. This coupled with the Reign all having great seasons, the Reign finished 1st in the VHL with 117 points which saw Ravenwing be apart of his first Victory Cup winning squad as Regular Season winners.

 

The Reign won the bye into the Semi-Final and would await the winner of the HC Davos Dynamo vs Helsinki Titans series. In the end the Dynamo would win and move onto the play the Reign. In a great series, which had the Reign win the first two games then lose the next 4 to bow out of the playoffs. It was a surprising turn of events as many had the Reign winning the whole thing. In the 6 game series, Ravenwing was almost shutdown with just 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points.

 

The S56 World Cup came at the end of the playoffs and Western Europe named Essian Ravenwing to the roster and this was his last chance at a Gold Medal to join the elusive triple gold club. Ravenwing tried his damn hardest to will the Western Europe team to the top with 7 goals and 14 assists for 21 points in just 10 games. West Europe finished Round Robin play with 20 points winning them a bye to the semi-final. Western Europe would beat Team World in the semis to move onto the final to play the Canadians for gold. In the end, after a valiant effort by Ravenwing, the Western Europe team would fall winning a Silver Medal. Ravenwing had 1 assist in the two games.

 

Season 57 - Riga Reign

Season 57 would mark the last of Essian Ravenwing's career and the Riga Reign wanted to avenge last seasons loss to the Dynamo in the playoffs. Ravenwing scored 44 goals and assisted on 66 goals for 110 points which were 2nd best in his career. The Reign proved again to be one of the best in the league by a wide margin finishing with 125 points and winning the Victory Cup once more.

 

The Reign would await in the semi's waiting for the winner of Helsinki and Cologne. Helsinki won and would play the Reign in which was a wash for them as they won in just 5 games. The Reign would play the Quebec City Meute in the finals. In 6 games, the Reign ended up winning after the two split the first 4 games before winning the next 2. Ravenwing scored 1 goal and assisted on 6 goals for 7 points in 11 games. Ravenwing ended up going out on top like many athletes want to do.

Ravenwing had a very fine career in the VHL/M starting with the Saskatoon Wild and ending with the Bern Royals in the VHLM. In 98 games, Ravenwing scored 23 goals and assisted on 91 goals for 114 points. In the playoffs, he scored 2 goals and assisted on 24 goals for 26 points winning 1 Founders Cup. Moving onto the VHL, he started with the Stockholm Vikings before moving onto the New York Americans and finishing with the Riga Reign. Ravenwing played in 576 games scoring 232 goals and assisting on 451 goals for 683 points winning two Victory Cups with the New York Americans and two Most Sportsmanlike Player Awards. In the playoffs, Ravenwing played in 72 games, scoring 24 goals and assisting on 48 goals for 72 points. He would win 2 Continental Cups with the New York Americans and 1 with the Riga Reign. In the World Cup, Ravenwin represented Team Western Europe on 4 different occasions. In 40 Round Robin games, Ravenwing scored 13 goals and assisted on 26 goals for 39 points. In the Elimination Round, Ravening scored 1 goal and assisted on 2 goals for 3 points in 7 games, winning 2 Silver Medals in the process.
