ShawnGlade 1,010
Name: Shawn Glade Position: Defense Age: 18 Height: 6'2 Weight: 185 pounds Hometown: Burlington, VT DESCRIPTION Shawn Glade started out on defense back in Peewee playing house league. Shawn played in house league until his Bantam year when he was surprisingly offered a spot on the USNTDP team in Ann Arbor. In his final year of house league, he led the entire state in points for his age group at age 14. He played for the USNTDP in the USHL for 3 years before committing to Boston University for his collegiate career. During his time in the USHL, he was voted the league's best defenseman his 2nd year in the program whilst playing on the top D pairing and logging the second most ice time on the team. After his dominant second year, BU approached him, offering Shawn a spot on their roster after the next year. He led BU to a Frozen Four appearance his freshman year, however only earning a Bronze Medal in the tournament. Shawn also was apart of the 2015 BU team that won the Beanpot. After he left BU, he was offered a contract with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL, which he played for until they folded in 2017. He was the team's top dman and an alternate captain in his last season there. After the Aces folded, he was approached by the Yukon Rush of the VHLM. Unsure of what to expect, he was very nervous playing there, but soon loved it. He currently still plays for the Rush. STRENGTHS Skating - The USNTDP really helped his skating on the backend, and now Shawn can skate up the ice blazingly fast. He is often able to lead the rush out of the zone by himself or maneuver around the other team easily because he's just faster than everyone else. Defense - Shocker. He likes to model his play after Drew Doughty and Roman Josi and play super defensive. He is used to being the team's #1 shutdown guy. He is best used in clutch situations late in the game and can bail the team out of an ugly situation. WEAKNESSES Offense - Shawn isn't a very skilled shooter or passer, but has been putting in work with the coaches on the team and he's been trying to hone in on these skills to be more of a well rounded player. Strength - For a defenseman, he isn't very strong, and has more relied on his pure skill to play against top tier opponents. This has caused him troubles in the VHLM because of the lack of grit. He's been losing puck battles in the corner and isn't doing a great job clearing the front of the net. However, he has been going to the gym and is pumping the iron to hopefully get stronger and be able to perform better for his team CONCLUSION While not best known for his offensive abilities, Shawn Glade is a guy that you want in the dying minutes of a game or preserving the lead. His offensive game is getting better, but for now he should start focusing on building strength and perfecting his defense Edited July 2, 2018 by ShawnGlade Beaviss and Will 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/50633-d-shawn-glade-rookie-profile-12/ Share on other sites
Banackock 8,044
Hate to be that guy, but a profile should be 500 words at minimum. Dunno the official thing but just letting you know so you don’t lose out on TPE as it looks good and overall I like what I see. I think it clocks in at 432. @ShawnGlade Edited July 2, 2018 by Banackock Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/50633-d-shawn-glade-rookie-profile-12/#findComment-532995 Share on other sites

DollarAndADream 3,356
Review: Your pros and cons could use more wording rather than putting all the words into the 'Description', but solid work overall and I look forward to your career in the VHL.
