With the VHL season roughly halfway over (every team has either 33 or 34 gams played at this point), it’s time to start looking ahead to what we might see when the playoffs roll around. Dangles already covered the fall of the defending VHL champions in Davos, so I decided to take a look at the two teams left standing right now.

To be fair, nothing is set in stone yet. Calgary and Quebec are pretty far ahead of the rest of the VHL with 58 and 53 points, respectively, while third-place Davos has 40 and the next four teams are within seven points of each other.

So, back to the title of this piece…can we skip ahead to the final? Is it inevitable that the impending dynasty in Quebec will attempt to begin its reign ahead of schedule? Is it inevitable that Calgary will have a chance to right the wrong it suffered in last season’s seven-game fall to Davos?

I say…yes. How about y’all?
