Ethan Osborne Lands in Seattle

SEATTLE, Washington

In a trade that sent two years worth of 1st rounders to Helsinki, the Seattle Bears acquired defenseman Willie Weber and Titans Captain and franchise leading scorer Ethan Osborne. This all in the midst of a day which saw the Helsinki Titans dismembered and shipped me off to different cities. While fans in Helsinki were divided, the asset pool is now starting to heal the initial burn of watching their beloved stars sold to the highest bidder. With the Davos one-season-rebuild fresh in their minds, it's not so hard to imagine a scenario where the Titans are back in playoff contention with a new set of faces.

Ethan Osborne landed in Seattle at 7:30, to a sea of reporters - something that was a little bigger than what he saw in Helsinki. Osborne approached the media, this time for the first time for his home team, without needing the team translator. The first question was a big one, "Are you bringing a cup to Seattle?".

Osborne smirked, and brushed the hard question off. He dropped his bags, and prepared to speak as he knew he needed to answer some burning questions.

"First and foremost I want to thank the Helsinki Titans and more specifically GM Mitch Higgins for an amazing six seasons. With that being said, Weber and I come into this revamped Seattle locker room with one goal in mind - to give this team the best chance at a cup that we can. I can't promise you anything more than that. I'm going to give everything I have, just like I did every game for Helsinki. We both have won one, and we know what it takes. In saying that, we are coming into a very prepared team. I know a few of these guys playing with Team Canada, and I know they are ready with or without us to make a real run for the Continental Cup. Our goal is to play whatever role they need - and at the end of the day, I want to raise one more cup before I hang them up."

Osborne then picked his bags up and entered into a car waiting to pick him up. It is likely that Osborne will be announcing his retirement after this season is complete, so what he says holds a lot of weigh. This season is his last chance to raise one more cup.
