The New York Americans started the season out like they were shot out of a cannon, but recently have mightily struggled. Losers of 5 straight games have forced management to juggle lines up, in hopes of finding a spark and turning things around before they get in too deep.

One of the casualties is forward Dan Wilinsky. After signing a long extension before the season, the hope was that Wilinsky could take a big step forward as a leader and driving force for the offense.

Instead Wilinsky has continued to struggle and has been demoted to the second line, making way for the red hot Vaydar Odinsson. Wilinsky has looked visibly frustrated during the past few games and the move doesn't come as a surprise to anyone.

When asked for comment, the usually friendly and outgoing Wilinsky only said “ Not my call, I can't put it into an ocean right now, so what do you fuckin expect “

He then broke a chair and walked out. Only time will tell if the shakeup can help stop the slide
