Travis Boychuk's Development

We are now 15 games into the VHLM season, and the star studded Turku Outlaws have a lot to hope for. With the Distribution Draft in the off-season, they added a variety of depth and stacked their team with known players from the M. The Outlaws have started with a record of 10-4-2, which might seem a little surprising to some. They need to get their chemistry in check in order to gain consistency on all levels.

Travis Boychuk is one of their star forwards, and with that they expect a lot from him. Over the course of the season they hope he can bring much success to the team. In the 15 games played, he has 9 goals and 10 assists for 19 points. That is pretty good for a player thrown into a bigger role than he had in his previous year. Most people expect he will only get better as time goes on.

Last year, Boychuk was mainly a winger alongside a bigger star. For this season he has stepped back into the role that brought him to the VHLM in the first place. In the faceoff circle he has won 54.52% of the draws, and that is great for a guy who was struggling at the start of the season. He managed to get back on pace to what people expect from him on face offs.

Throughout the season so far, TB has been a little inconsistent. He has had some off games where he obtained 0 points, although playing well. When he is on his game though, he is a threat to stay aware of. Over the past 4 games he has 7 points with 3 goals, so it will be interesting to see what happens this week with his progress. He remains 3rd in scoring on the Outlaws but he wants to be at the top, and he has a lot of time to do just that.

Travis Boychuk's biggest question is consistency, and he knows it. If he wants to turn into the superstar he believes he can be, he needs to distribute points night in and night out. The Outlaws as a team have not been as dominant as some have expected, but they have no trouble scoring. Lucky for them, their success does not lie on only one line. Every line has been contributing in a big way, and if one is not scoring the other one is. Depth will be a large factor in the season.

For the rest of the season, the fans and GMs watching Travis Boychuk and the Outlaws could expect big things. Boychuk is only getting better and better, and if he keeps producing he will gain even more confidence and score even more. The season that remains will be an exciting one, that's for sure.

475 words. I know the word requirement is set at 450, but anything under 500 in my opinion is just doing the bare minimum. It's hard to get a good article structured in such a short word form. That being said, you used "he" a lot in reference to your player. While that is fine occasionally, it however became a common theme here in this Media Spot. Using a variety of different other word usages would have eliminated that. Also, if you avoid shortcuts like "TB" and use Travis Boychuk, you earn an additional two words by just doing that (that writing tip is free this time..lol), so there's a small tip for next time.

Grammar: 2/2

Nothing severe.

Distribution Draft = Dispersal Draft/VHLM Draft

faceoff = face-off

stay aware = be aware

Appearance: 1/1

It was fine.

Overall: 5.5/6

I only wrote TB because I thought it might sound cool as a nickname. I wasn't taking any shortcuts.

I also would have written 500+ words if I knew I would get deducted points. I can easily whip out more sentences. I just thought oh, 450 is the requirement....so I should be fine.

Damnit...I knew it wasn't a Distribution Draft. LOL.

.5 deduction means you don't actually lose any TPE so it's just a warning.

I will call you Tuberculosis

Content: 2.5/3 - You really won't be penalized too badly, all it really does is let me get a grade in! Adding to what Slobo said before, try to avoid using "he" too much. A great tool you could use to help with that is the Word Counter. Not only does this track how many words you have to check your status on the word requirement, but it also lists some other cool details to help you out as well. One of them is showing you what your top ten most used words are, along with what percentage it is used compared to the rest. It's great for helping to mix up your word choice and I think it would really benefit you in taking that step.

Grammar: 2/2 - You did pretty well here, nice job!

Appearance: 1/1 - Absolutely.
