As the San Diego Marlins got their game underway last night against the Mississauga hounds, only 4 minutes into the game Alexander Shaw and Alex Pearson got into what looked like a heated confrontation. As They skated away Shaw slashed Pearson’s hand, which seemed to enrage the Marlins forward, but fellow teammate and captain Phil Marleau tried to calm him down, but at the next puck drop, Pearson violence speared him in the “Lower body area” that sent Shaw to the ground writhing in pain. Pearson was assessed a 5 minute major and a game misconduct for the reckless stick jab. Pearson was visibly upset over the call, mouthing off to the ref and breaking his stick as he stormed off the ice.

Shaw skated off the ice with ice on his balls (although he did return shortly after).

After the game Pearson refused s formal interview but said what happened what stupid and won’t happen again.

The Marlins went on to win 8-5 that game. Rookie defenceman Ryszard Franciszek scored a hat trick in his first game! Congrats ryszard!
