Last week we profiled rookie defenseman, David Lindberg, who we projected to be a potential sleeper pick for the Ottawa Lynx from the blue line. Lindberg has been fabulous to start the season with 8 goals and 10 assists in the teams first 19 games. This week we will continue the theme of profiling Lynx defensemen and take a deeper look at Ambrose Stark.

After tons of drama and rumors surrounding where Stark would sign to play this season, he ultimately decided to sign a one-year contract with the Ottawa Lynx on May 8th. When the signing was announced, everyone knew this would be a very big addition to the blue line as he is one of the top S67 defensemen in the VHLM. Ambrose is described by many as a magician with the puck, he is very comfortable handling the puck and effective at transitioning out of the defensive zone to create offense. He also has an absolute cannon of a shot from the point, likely one of the hardest shots we’ve seen from a defenseman in years.

S66 Outlook

Stark has been the Lynx’s best overall defenseman since joining the team. In his 15 games played (note he missed 4 games to start the season while he was deciding where to sign) he has registered 7 goals and 11 assists and also has displayed a strong physical side of the game with 34 hits, which is the second most on the team for d-men.  Overall, we expect Stark to continue to dominate offensively and defensively for the Ottawa Lynx as the season progresses.
