AcousticKazoo 73
Name: Micha Sage Position: Left Wing Power Forward Height: 6' 2" Weight: 195 lbs Hometown: Welland, Ontario Handedness: Right Micha Sage is a right-handed, Left Wing Power Forward from Welland, Ontario who looks to possibly be a prospect some teams might not give a fair look into. Standing at 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing in at 195 lbs, he brings a high Hockey IQ and adaptive play-style to the table. Whatever system and program he lands in, you can expect him to make an impact sometime during his career. At his young age, there is some room for improvement which we will delve into more further on in the profile; However, what he lacks in some of the aspects of his game he more than makes up for with his strengths. Let us dive right in, shall we? What He Brings (Pros): Scoring - In his Senior High School career, Sage posted outstanding numbers in both goals and assists, with the former being his hallmark. He has unique ways of creating plays to open himself up on the ice that can lead him into open scoring chances. During his school career, he won the championship only once, but was a highly coveted MVP two years in a row. Hockey IQ - This kid knows where the puck is at all times, and seems to position himself on both offense and defense extremely well. He can break up plays going into the defensive zone, set up beautiful board passes, and seems to have a good handle on his stick play. Takes Smart Shots - You won't see him take too many shots that aren't from high percentage areas of the ice, and if he isn't finding a shot to his favor he will quickly move the puck around, or feed it to another teammate. Where He's Lacking (Cons): Can't Keep It Simple - His biggest drawback, which might be attributed to his age, is that he can often times turn the simple plays into a complicated, chaotic mess. Whether he holds the puck too long to find an open man, tries to take a fancy deke around instead of a simple deke, or just passes it into the opposing team, he can often times be clumsy in his decision making. Not That Strong - For his size he is rather weak, and battles along the boards aren't his forte. Don't look for him to engage much on the physical side of a play, as his hesitation to commit to the boards will most likely end up with him turning the puck over. Isn't Comfortable At Right Wing - If you are thinking about putting him on the Right side for plays, don't. It won't end well, as he seems to be out of place and just doesn't get a steady tempo going. You're better off keeping him at Left Wing, and allowing him to work from there. The few games we caught of him playing Right Wing, he had a handful of turnovers, and a silly stick infraction that was an error entirely on his part.
