New York, NY -- It didn't take too long before New York Americans fans got to see Joseph McWolf in his new colours. After a fourth unsuccessful season in the star-spangled jersey for the British defenseman, it made sense for both the team and him to move on. New GM Keven Foreskin sent the team's captain since S63 to Riga, for a prospect and two draft picks, propulsing the Americans in a rebuilding process yet again. McWolf had some level of individual success during his time in the Big Apple, taking back the Sterling Labatte Trophy in his sophomore season, as well as participating in three straight All-Star Games, from S63 to S65. He never had a chance to enjoy the same success as a team, however, failing to help the Americans win even one playoff series over four seasons. With the clock starting to run out on him, the move to the Reign, a perennially competitive team, makes sense for him. He'll get to reunite with former Lynx teammates Ryan Kastelic and Kallis Kriketers, with whom he won a Founders Cup in S62, in the quest for his first Continental Cup.

The Reign was in town yesterday and, before the game started, the Americans office took some time to thank McWolf for his dedication to the team, showing a montage of his best moments with the team, while fans applauded and chanted for minutes. The Reign came on top during the game and McWolf got one last minute with the crowd, after he was invited on the ice as the game's 3rd star following his 2-assist, 2-hit performance.
