Underyew Emerging

The Ottawa Lynx are taking down some of the top teams in the VHLM. Their two most recent games saw them convincingly beat first place Philadephia 5-2 and shut-out Minnesota, which put Ottawa into second place. Lynx captain Thorny Underyew scored a hat trick against Philadelphia and added two helpers against Minnesota. While Thorny was absolutely expected to contribute to his team this season, many are surprised at how quickly the young leader has adapted to the North American game. Having veterans Zeno Miniti and Anthony Hawk provide a bulk of the offence certainly helps.

The Lynx are making a push for the cup. They drafted strongly and maintained a strong veteran core, while recruiting two strong rookie goaltenders. The entire minor league is watching them, and surely many are rooting for them to take down the heavily favoured Reapers come playoff time. It will be exciting to see how the standings settle in the remaining two thirds of the season.
