What was a fun season finally came into the end and the real season started. The Minnesota Storm faced the Houston Bulls in the first round of the VHLM Playoffs and it went as expected for the team. Advancing on through to the second round, the Minnesota Strom actually swept their opponent. Led by their goaltending and their defensive depth, it really was no surprise that the Storm would have advanced in the first round. What was a surprise to many was the impact of Kaspars Claude to the Storms roster. Only registering a little above 40 points in the regular season, kaspars came to play when it mattered the most.

Kaspars was able to register 5 points in 4 games in the playoffs, which is at a lot better of a pace that he was at in the regular season. Scoring 2 goals in the first game of the matchup and then an Overtime winner in the 4th and final game of the series, Kaspars has really shown some improvement over the season. He has even gained a new nickname in Minnesota, which is Kaspars Clutch instead of Kaspars Claude.

"It is really cool to be hearing that from the fans right now" said Claude. "I did not think that it would really change my perception in the city. I am here to do the best I can do and right now we are clicking. Playing alongside Sundqvist and Palazzo, they make my job a lot easier. But once you start scoring some goals and you end up getting on the scoresheet, it just gives you the extra confidence you need to push harder. It gives you the reassurance that you are able to make a difference on the ice and people wanna see you succeed when you are out there with that jersey on. My job is not done thats forsure, we have a tough opponent coming up but that does not change my opinion about our team. I think we can go out there and advance to the next round, we have a good group of guys with the same goal in mind. We just have to go onto another gear and really play for the name on the front and not the name on the back."

It is going to be an interesting series forsure when the Minnesota Storm take on the 2nd place Philadelphia Reapers. The Reapers had a better season series against the Storm but that can all change once the playoffs starts.
