Motzaburger 1,590
The VHL has grown and expanded over the past seasons, but we’re here today to grade some of the VHL/M team logos that once were. 5. Brampton Blades, Grade: D This logo is as ugly as ugly as it gets folks. It’s got too much going on where the writing and maple leaf collide, not to mention the use of American colours for a Canadian team. The text is god awful. Looks like something an atom house hockey team would don. 4. Bern Royals, Grade: C- This logo is much simpler than Brampton’s; however, the disproportioned face makes it look completely whack. The colours are great but let’s face it, this is a poor man’s Moscow logo. Not to mention the cross – hockey and religion don’t mix (just like religion and state). The hockey gods don’t like this one. 3. Cologne Express, Grade: C+ This logo does a good job of explaining the team name, but the text, once again, is a killer. For me this logo could be very sexy if we lost the text and the lower shape. Seems a bit forced. Speaking of forced, the skyline additions on the top left and the lower right side of the train are ridiculous. This logo would be very clean without the text are and the skyline. 2. Bratislavia Watchmen, Grade: A- This logo does a good job of keeping it simple with lovely colours and simple characteristics. This is a logo that should be considered for revival in the future. 1. Stockholm Vikings, Grade A Two logos here. First, the OG logo as plain black and white. So simple and so clean. Would be a lovely secondary logo, or an alternate for throwback jerseys. The newer Stockholm logo boasts a yellow and red feel. This logo represents the original well and adds character and colour to the past. Without a doubt, one of the best logos the VHL has ever seen. Stockholm needs to be back in the league. Word count: >300 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/71132-grading-ex-vhl-logos/ Share on other sites
Commissioner Beketov 9,025 Posted October 16, 2019 Commissioner Share Posted October 16, 2019 The coloured logo was actually Stockholm’s logo. The black and white circular one was their alternate created after. gorlab 4,321
boubabi should get a call to the hall off the strength of the stockholm vikings logos (let alone existence) alone. brat watchmen is flames, cologne is dope and iconic even with the criticisms which are fair, and I like Brampton personally but always thought it was ripped.
