Plenty of players get drafted into the VHL, although only a small percentage of those young men and women playing hockey in their local rink ever get a chance to step on professional ice. Even Jesus Christ himself was selected, a round 2, 15th overall selection in the league's inaugural draft. But in the first seven to ten seasons, there were five players named 'Scott' or 'Scotty' taken in drafts. How'd they do?

C Scotty Campbell, S1 Dispersal Draft Pick 2

Probably the best known of the Scotts, Scotty Campbell is a four-time Continental Cup champion (S1, S4, S5, S6), namesake for the VHL's MVP trophy, and three-time winner of said trophy. He's also one of two players to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in Season 9, the other being Top Rookie trophy namesake Christian Stolzschweiger. The Swiss forward accumulated a staggering 1,239 points over his career with a nearly-even split between goals (600) and assists (639).

LW Scott Boulet, S1 Dispersal Draft Pick 6

Yep, there was a second first-round Scott(y) selected in the Season 1 Entry Draft, and he's got his own award too. The Wranglers traded for the pick that would grant them Boulet from the Amstel Tigers, a now-defunct/renamed franchise that took Robert Sharpe with the first Dispersal Draft pick ever. He had a slightly shorter career (S1-S6), but amassed 737 points with a similar even split in goals and assists, and won the Continental Cup twice (S2, S3). And if you can't tell, yes, that means a Scott or Scotty won each of the first six Continental Cups. He's also got his own trophy, the Top Two-Way Forward distinction hoisted a tremendous four times by Matt Thompson @Beketov. He was inducted into the HoF in Season 7.

LW Scott Anderson, S4 Entry Draft Pick 7

All good things have to come to an end, sadly. Scott Anderson was drafted by Hamilton (now New York) late in the first round, and although the first five selections of the draft were star-studded and each won at least one Continental Cup, Anderson was not one of them. He's infamous for creating multiple accounts pretty early on in league history, using ChinaGrows.com and LibertyBell.biz both as proxies to generate accounts on separate IP addresses. He then tried to re-enter the league using proxies, and the reputed SloboRadar™ that has since seen retirement was integral in finding his accounts repeatedly.

RW Scott Lynch, S6 Entry Draft Pick 37

Taken by Stockholm, Scott Lynch was the second-to-last player selected in Season 6 and was only selected after three separate franchises elected to pass on players in the draft. Not much is documented or known about Lynch.

G Scotty Campbell, S7 Entry Draft Pick 24

Channeling the energies of the Hall of Famer listed a bit earlier in this article, Scotty Campbell the goaltender is the last Scott(y) drafted in the league's first ten seasons. Unfortunately there isn't much known about him either.
