Playoff factoids

The conference finals which just finished between Seattle and Vancouver were the first between the two franchises since Seattle beat Quebec en route to the S43 Continental Cup. They had met twice before that, splitting two series in S36 and S37 (neither team beat Toronto in the conference finals).

Halifax (8 seasons) and San Diego (4 seasons) have never missed the playoffs in their brief existence in the VHLM. They've also never won the Founder's Cup (or made the playoffs in San Diego's case) but early days. I feel like it's a marginally impressive feat now that not everyone makes the playoffs in the league again.

Kallis Kriketers really likes playing against Moscow. He's now posted 3 playoff series in which he's posted a save % of .931 or higher and 2 have come against the Menace (.944 in S67, .942 in S69, both 5-game series). Must be some Latvian patriotism.

Rayz Funk now also has 3 appearances on that list, despite being outplayed by Greg Eagles. Finn Davison's .960 against Riga in S66 is still the gold standard for modern goalies but he's not come close since.
