May Is the Way

Owen May focuses on the action of Toronto's opening night game against Seattle

TORONTO, Ontario - It certainly won't last, but Toronto Legion goaltender Owen May is putting on a clinic through the first two games of the Legion's S70 campaign. In the two games the Legion have played, both against rival Seattle, the Swiss netminder has posted a sparkling .966 Save Percentage with a 1.00 Goals-Against-Average to go along with it. May hasn't quite lived up to the expectations set upon him when he was drafted 11th overall in S66, only ever having one successful season (S668 - .918SV 2.8GAA), but perhaps this season he may turn a corner. The Legion certainly won't be winning games with sheer firepower this season, so they will likely need to rely heavily on their goalie to steal games in what is expected to be a rebuilding year. For this season to be considered successful, the Legion would prefer to hopefully see the continued development of their prospects in the VHL and VHLM, such as Chad Magnum, Erik Killinger, Damien Wolfe, Kristopher McDagg, Jaxx Hextall, Dick Cheezy, and Aleksandra Olsen. The Legion will likely be sellers at the deadline as well, and may look to trade away their expiring FAs for picks, such as the recently returned Aron Nielsen.
