Brad+Pitt+Brad+Pitt+Boarding+Private+Pla

Many members of the media and fans were wondering why Eagles wasn’t at practice earlier this morning. Rumours were even spreading that someone had seen him boarding a private jet heading to Europe.

Well now we know the answer, the long time Wolves goalie has been traded to Riga. The news broke this morning that the trade involved:

Riga receives:

Greg Eagles

Vancouver receives:

S72 RIG 1st

Pat Svoboda

Finn Davison

A lot of the Wolves players and fans were shocked that Eagles was traded and we reached out to Greg over phone to get his take on the trade

“ Well while many people may have been surprised, I knew about this trade for a few days “ Eagles Said “ The GM approached me and we had a discussion about me waving my NTC to go to Riga, While it was Sad to leave the Wolves I knew that with Spyro coming up this was going to be the best decision for my career”

Eagles leaves the Wolves having won a Continental Cup, The Aidan Shaw, the Greg Clegane and set franchise records for Wins, Save %, GAA and shutouts. While all these accolades are great, Eagles was unable to bring the Wolves to the promised land in the playoffs which will always leave a black mark for him and lots of regrets

“ Yeah it sucks, that is the one thing I wish I would have done but it just wasn’t meant to be I guess” Eagles said “ I always believe in everything happens for a reason and winning the cup here as the starter just wasn’t in the cards”

Heading to Riga he will be reunited with Tate who he played in the minor leagues with in San Diego, Codrick Past, Jagger Philliefan and Aston Martin who he played with in Vancouver.

“ I will miss all my Wolves but it is great to be heading to a team where I know so many players due to playing with them in the past” Continued Eagles “ It’s exciting to start fresh on a new team and try to help them get back into the playoff picture. This also puts me closer to all my family and friends in my home country of Poland”

With Riga outside of the playoff picture currently, Eagles will have to bring his A game to try and help his new team back into the playoff race. It is still early in the season and many things can change. Eagles is hoping that with the stellar Riga defense he will be able to compete for the Aidan and Greg Clegane Trophy as well as lead Riga to a finals appearance.

“ I think we can do it, Riga has a very solid team, especially on defense. I think if they can bring in one more solid forward then this team will really be a threat in the European conference” Eagles continued.

Even with Eagles being ok with the trade and approving the NTC, many fans were not happy with the Wolves decision. Eagles just recently signed a long term extension to finish out his career with the Wolves and was also named last seasons best goalie.

“ I think the return was not good enough for last years top goalie” A Wolves fan said “ They should have either received more from him or Kept Eagles for a playoff push, he was a fan favorite and was a great part of the community. Were definitely going to miss him and we will be wishing him the best of luck in Riga”
