Uhtred ends rookie season as a champion

Uhtred ended his rookie campaign in fine fashion as the Bears won the continental cup over the defending champion Moscow Menace.   As a rookie, Uhtred had a limited role in the cup run scoring a goal and 6 assists on route to the championship.  Uhtred has shown a willingness to play any role asked of him in order to win a championship and a trend has emerged where championships come in his first season with a team.  Uhtred won the Founders cup in his first season in the VHLM where he was a role player as he learned how to be a professional hockey player.  In this continental cup Uhtred was again a role player, while learning how o play in the VHL.   If Uhtred makes it to a World Cup roster one day,  as a first timer he will likely have to be a role player again.  Uhtred’s  team will hope the trend of a championship in season one continues.   This trend was somewhat broken with the World Juniors as Uhtred was unable to win a gold in his first chance with team world but he did win gold being a member of team Europe for the first time this season.

 

 The continental cup now gives Uhtred a chance at the triple gold club as he won the Founders cup with the Saskatoon Wild in his first season in the VHLM.   A world cup gold medal is now what separates Uhtred from being a member of this exclusive club.
