Hextall vs Lafontaine rivaly back for round 2

With the Start of Season 72 underway this means seeing more battles between rivals and it didn't take long for that to happen between Hextall and Lafontaine. In Game 2 for both teams the Calgary Wranglers would win 4-3, Lafontaine faced 32 shots and saved 29 of them for a .906 save percentage while Hextall faced a little less, only 30 shots but only stopped 26 of them leading to him having a harsh .867 save percentage. While Jaxx's numbers are clearly worse both goalies would tell you that they both under performed for their team and next game they we're both clearly eager to preform to the best of their ability. Both goalies faced 27 shots but Hextall was able to out preform his rival by making 26 saves to get the win for the Toronto Legion, Lafontaine's performance was nothing to sneeze at though, making only 1 less save for a total of 25 but it was clear for this game both goalies were zoned in and both made highlight reel saves. In the end Lafontaine ended with a .923 save percentage and Hextall had a .963 save percentage. Last season when the Wranglers and Legion faced off with both Hextall and Lafontaine in net, Lafontaine ended the season on top with 3 wins compared to Hextall's 1. While there is an argument to be made that Calgary had the much better team, Hextall would tell you otherwise. "It doesn't matter if I'm against the bottom team in the league or the top, I have to stop the puck, and against Calgary I failed to do that multiple times."  When asked about his rivalry with Lafontaine, Hextall gave us this quote "He's a fantastic goalie and I still remember when we met in the playoffs back in season 69, the stare down we had at each other from one end of the rink to the other, and that's what our matches are like, just waiting to see who's gonna break first, I just gotta make sure it's not me"

Hell yeah! It’s gunna be a close goalie race for the next few seasons.
