A little bit about why coming in 3rd hurts less by someone who was recently selected 3rd overall in the S74 Draft. Now I am not here to say that being a first overall draft selection is not one of the highest compliments a person can receive in any league really. I have had my share of being selected in the top slot and I must admit it does feel good to know that General Managers, who are generally key members on the site see your worth as person. Whether it is your sparkling personality, propensity to rack up that TPE or in some rare cases both, being that must grab member is a form of validation that not many people receive. That leads to my topic today, does being selected in the top ten or so not pay you the same compliment? I could write a whole article on why getting second in anything just stings, to be so close yet so far can be a something that stays with you for a while. When you go at third you pretty much know that you can fall anywhere, as the free fall feeling sets in after the first two names are called. Any pick both could and could not be you, depending on what the General Managers are looking for. That is why I personally prefer to know I’ll drop and go to the team that really wants me, that values what I can bring to the table and I can invest in for the long haul. For every player from first to last there are pros and cons, and it is just who I am as a person to disregard the numbers and want to see people go where they will be happy. If for some reason you did go lower than you thought, all I can say is this, you have the chance to really show the league how smart the GM is who grabbed you, because lets be honest at the end of the day so much matters more than draft position. To @Beaviss and the Vancouver scouting system @Emi, thanks for having faith in me and all the wolf pups acquired this season, from our very first to our very last you can tell that the picks were meticulously selected .
