Advantage 2,920
TYLER WALKER WANTS OUT OF MALMO? Tyler Walker is the Malmo Nighthawks sophomore defenseman who is coming off a season that saw the young Canadian finish second in Stolzschweiger Voting this past off-season. Walker finished his first season with 18 goals, 42 assists and 172 blocked shots, showcasing tremendous discipline that helped the young defender stay on the ice and play in all situations. However, while everything seems to be all well and dandy for Walker and the Nighthawks, there have already been some discussions about the possibility of him testing his luck in Free Agency. This was a quote from an anonymous insider in the Nighthawks front office: “Listen, all I know is he isn’t as happy as we thought he was going to be given his agency’s history with the club. It wouldn’t shock me if he sees who offers him a contract. Doesn’t mean he will leave, as he seems like a fairly loyal dude, but a lot of us wouldn’t be shocked if he at least hits the market.” When pressed for a quote, one Nighthawks season ticket holder was not afraid to express his disgust for that thought: “He would instantly be a traitor for our organization and the Vantage Point Agency would be blackballed by Malmo going forward. He is an excellent player but I won’t be afraid to burn my jersey if he goes anywhere else. Frankly, if he even hits the market I will never look at him in the same way.” We were able to get a hold of Tyler Walker and he had this to say about the rumours: “I honestly don’t know where people get this information. I haven’t really had any significant thoughts about my contract and while certainly I could see the market, it’s not really something I am focused on at the moment. As with any prospect, your individual performance and the team’s performance will obviously help determine these results, and we simply are too far away to even really analyze my future. What I am basically saying is that these rumours are just that, and should not be taken as fact." Walker has hit the ice quick this season as he is already sitting above a point-per-game and is on pace for a very high blocked shot total as well. If he is disgruntled and wanting out, he certainly isn’t showing it, with him often seemingly being in high spirits. Perhaps the fact that he lost the Alternate Captaincy has sparked the trolls to start these rumours, but we should definitely put a halt to any jersey burnings for now. “Simply put, I am a Malmo Nighthawk right now. If I am somewhere else in a few seasons, so be it, but that is not my focus. I want to help us win a cup and that’s what I am focused on. We have a talented team and I want to show that we can compete with anyone going forward.” Blazzer and Laine 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/91342-tyler-walker-wants-out-of-malmo/ Share on other sites

bigAL 2,176
Review: 9.5/10 Great work as always Adv! You’re a wizard and writing in that classic hockey story form, weaving quotes from important people in between the insider analysis. The structure of the article is beautifully designed to build hype - right from the click bait headline, to the agent not denying it, to the angry fan, and then, at last, after we’ve seen all the shit going down, Walker denies the claims. I was halfway through the article before I started the gears turning of how my team could get Walker, and I’m sure I’ll every other reader was thinking the same thing. Keep it up and keep is in the loop with what’s going on in Malmo!
