Dream Team of My Favorite Players

I can't believe I'm here doing another point task for the 3rd time in 4 weeks but that's the way she goes I suppose. Anyways, I'm here for theme week and one of the topics I'm going to cover here is my favorite players in VHL history and who out of them do I think would make the best possible dream team. So let's start with the forward lineup and we'll see where it goes from there.

Center - Anton Brekker (DAV) @DGFX.

Brekker was the captain of the team when I finally starting taking on responsibility as a larger member. He took a flyer on me with Volkov getting drafted in the late rounds and made the league really fun for me at a time where I needed it. His player was a certified stud and he made our rivalry with Helsinki at the time extremely fun because he wasn't afraid to shit talk. Brekker was an all around center, 3 time Continental Cup winner and not to mention an 800 point player in a shade over 500 games. He's very overlooked in VHL lore despite being a Hall of Famer.

Left Wing - Matt Bentz @Matt

Matt Bentz was the guy who originally recruited me back into the league all the way back in Season 6, so his player again has a big stamp on my VHL career so I figured I would have him here as he was the type of guy whose career I always followed pretty closely. Bentz is certainly on the lower end of the totem pole in terms of Hall of Fame players, but to me he could play both ends of the ice and was two way player that helped the Wranglers through some tough days. He was difficult to play against similar to Brekker, and I think they would fit perfectly.

Right Wing - Leeroy Jenkins @Squinty

One of the more personal ones to me on this list, Jenkins' agent Squinty was one of my best friends on this site and we still talk off the site to this day. At the time of his retirement Jenkins was considered one of the only players who could possibly compare to Scotty Campbell. Although he was a hitman for hire and often jumped teams, he was seemingly incapable of not winning a championship. And his physical play at the time was unprecedented as he finished his career leading the VHL all-time in hits.

Defense - Alexander Valiq & Matt Bentley @Koradek @Victor

Two of the best defenseman of all-time and two of my favorite members of all time. This was an easy decision for me, both of these defenseman utterly dominated the VHL with Valiq even having a trophy named after himself after all this time. He was extremely prolific offensively and led the Quebec City Meute to their first title as an organization not long after they came about in expansion.

Bentley however was as prolific as a scorer as Koradek but also known for his two way play, managing to win 2 Labatte Trophies and smashing 100 points 3 times in his career. Again, a winner in every sense of the word Bentley nabbed 2 Continental Cups with the Davos Dynamo due to his ability to dish the puck all over the ice to his forwards. At the time of his retirement he was 4th all time in defenseman assists.

Goalie - Alexander Labatte @sterling

Labatte was my goalie in Riga for our final season as he signed on with us to try and help me win one last title with one of my players and he will always be one of my favorites for that attempt, even if we fell short in the finals. He finished his career with 3 Aidan Shaw Trophies and 1 Continental Cup. His 3 year stretch of winning 3 Shaw Trophies straights is one of the best stretches of performance in VHL history. He was also extremely clutch in the playoffs despite not being able to capture multiple titles.
