The playoffs are where giants die, and where underdogs shine. Miami was the favorite to win the cup last season, and they choked. They were the lowest seed this season, yet they beat the top two seeds in 7 games. The Ace's went down this series 3-0 and turned it around to force a game 7, but in the seventh game, things just didn't go to the Ace's favor. Early on in the game, the first period, Miami went up 2-0 with big goals from Peter Louis II with his 7th of the playoffs, and a goal from Addison McLaren with their 6th of the playoffs. The first goal was scored at 1:23 in the first period, and the second goal scored at 17:54 on the power play.

The second period was where Vegas decided to mount a comeback, Rhynex Entertainment scored his 4th goal of the playoffs at 0:05 in the second period from Gary Rush. Miami saw this goal and answered back with their own from Theodore Hoffman, his first goal of the playoffs from Peter Louis, and Hulk Hogan Jr to make the score 3-1. And as the period started to get closer to ending, at 17:27 Nicholas Sunderbruch scored his 5th goal of the playoffs from Matt Thunder, and Angel Wachiure to put Vegas within one goal. The Period started to wind down, and there were some shots but it seemed like the heat had been turned down just a little.

The game was within one, 3-2, heading into the third period of this winner-takes-all game 7. The stakes were high, the winner would punch their ticket to the founders cup championship, and both teams desperately wanted to make it. And for the first half of the period the Ace's trailed by one goal, until at exactly 9:00 Breeze Ladrian scores his first playoff goal to tie the game at three a piece. This game was tied, and it was starting to look like an intense battle. One team knew they were meant to be here, the other had to prove they were meant to be here. As the two teams took shot after shot the clock started to wind down to the very end, and as we thought that this game could go to overtime, the unthinkable happens, Sheldon Juniper with his 8th playoff goal this season puts one in the back of the net and makes the score 4-3 at 18:23. The Ace's had to pull Drew Minott, and they did. A six on five attack for the Ace's put shot after shot up on Rasputin, but Miami held firm. And as the Ace's looked like they could turn the pressure up more to possibly tie the game, Theodore Hoffman forces a turnover and shoots the puck into an empty net at 19:40 with 20 seconds left on the clock. Immortalizing Hoffman forever in Miami's fanbase.

And just like that, the Ace's fought back hard, and had the taste of victory just on their lips, but Mami slayed the giants and took down the Ace's in 7 games. This series was incredible, with key players getting big goals when they needed to. If I had to pick a favorite moment this series it would be my Hat Trick to win us Game 4 and sae our season for the time being. The Vegas Ace's organization is a great one, and could be poised for another great run in the future. Our season might be over, but the friendships made in the locker room will last a lifetime. This is Nick signing off for the last time in the VHLM until I recreate. Congrats Miami, go win the cup.
