Vancouver, B.C - Less than 24 hours before the first game of the Continental Cup Finals, Patrik Laine and the Helsinki Titans have agreed to a 3 year contract extension. The contract has a total value of 9 Million and carries a 3 Million AAV. Laine has one year left a 1.5M dollars before this extension kicks in. This keeps Laine a Titan until the end of S78. We managed to catch a word with Laine to see what his comments were on his extension.

"Yeah, I mean Helsinki was always my number one option. To play in front of the best fans in the league and have a great front office, it was a contract I couldn't refuse. We just sat down for about an hour and talked and eventually came to that price tag. Super excited to be a Titan for 4 more years."

We also managed to catch up with Helsinki Titans GM Jubo to see what he thought.

"The Titans could not be more pleased this week. We've punched our ticket to the finals, closed a 3 year deal on Spencer Elsby and now 3 seasons on Patrik Laine. With young star talent signing on for the immediate future we have a strong chance to being a top tier team for seasons to come. The Titans are synonymous for retaining home grown talent and keeping the locker room familiar with these fantastic personalities. I would like to thank Laine for the pleasant discussions and cannot wait to make this official when pen meets paper in the off-season"

Helsinki will play Vancouver in the Continental Cup Finals. Games 1 and 2 of the series are tomorrow night in Vancouver.

Interesting. Feel like Laine could've got more money.

I decided to leave some on the table, I want to keep the team competitive.
