Now it’s time for the Minnesota Storm! Minnesota are currently 16-44-2 in the Eastern Conference. But welcome to the VHLM where the teams find it difficult to be competitive for more than a season. As you should know, they didn’t make the playoffs last season season but I hope they can sneak in under the guidance of @Rayzor_7 and @Mr_Hatter.

Team Review

They have zero player above 200 tpe and that’s probably why they found it difficult to stay competitive. They were the home to many famous VHLers like Michael Hall, Squirrely Dan and Berocka Sunqvist. The team has proved that they can develop young rookies for the big stage which is the VHL. They currently have quite a number of picks in their hands which is great as they look to expand their group next season as some of them get picked by other teams in the draft. Players like Robert Bouchard are going to get released and Minnesota will look to get new up and coming stars.

Minnesota have a ton of picks ready for this season and the next. With this many picks in the draft, we’ll see Rayz be on the clock majority of the time. With the first rounder from Halifax, they could possibly land themselves a rather high first round pick there. With these picks, I would highly recommend them pick a couple of high-quality D-men. There are plenty of options this season from MacGruber to Rusty Knale.

Player Review

Maksym Jankowski – 167 TPE

After a not so good season with Yukon, things have surely improved for the winger. His build is good too, going for a strong forward that can score and set up plays. However, a skill that can be massively improved would be defence. Minnesota would benefit from a forward being able to cover defensively and position himself to block shots and cove the passing lane. Maksym is a Chicago prospect and will most likely see wearing the Minnesota jersey at least for another season. His earning isn’t fixed as he jumps from earning welfare to media spot and back to welfare.

Grapes – 146 TPE

Moving from Philly to Minnesota, the winger made some improvements to start S75. With his build, I was expecting a sniper but I’m wrong as this is happening to my player as well. Grapes is more of a two-way forward but he also proved himself in the o-zone putting up 40 points in the 62 games he has appeared in. His current earnings include practice facility, press conference and welfare. Some improvements he could make would be to improve his defence and puck handling skills. Those will bring immediate change to his play and also help his team out defensively.

Henry Tucker – 119 TPE

The trend in Minnesota is that their highest TPE players are all wingers. Might not be the best thing but they can’t change this. Slightly below in terms of points as compared to his teammates above, Tucker is in a similar position. But with 119 TPE, he is having a season. Looking at this build, he seems to be building a checking forward here with ST, CK and FG being improved. He has quickly put his PA and SC up to 70, allowing him to produce for his team. Unfortunately that comes with a price. Crucial skills like DF, PH and SK haven’t been up to par but that will slowly be looked into as he keeps earning. He will be entering the VHL Entry Draft this season and I can’t wait to see which team he lands on.

Tater Tot – 99 TPE

Tater is hard to judge because he’s not on an excellent team. But he’s doing all he can to keep his team in the playoff race. Tater is a new goalie with just one month under his belt. He’ll see himself be on another team next season when the draft happens. He’s gonna be a good backup until he earns enough and have proven himself to be the starter for a team. No reason to not draft him and he has potential to help a team or a starter out.

Markuss Puhovs – 97 TPE

Markuss has a good build in the making here with 70 SK, SC and DF. 40 points in his rookie season is an impressive feat for a D-man. His built indicates an offensive D-man and it’s coming off really nicely. He has 5 PPG under his belt and is showing that he’s going to be a great player for his team. A star defensemen in the making is good to see. The next skill to invest TPE in is PH to ensure that Markuss is able to hold on to the puck and make plays out of the zone. Nobody wants a defensemen that can’t bring the puck up right? EA doesn’t know this.

Ron World Peace III – 94 TPE

Definitely a steal in my opinion here, Ron being drafted 126th overall to Minnesota. The German stud despite being the lower TPE players is putting up 45 points currently. Ron is a two-way defensemen based on his stats. With 161 shots blocked, he’s definitely helping his goalie a lot back there. Ron is able to rush up the ice and join his forwards to make plays and score at even strength and the man advantage. I’m looking forward to where this player will end up at the VHL Entry Draft. He’s going to be a good prospect but only time will tell because development changes over time for a player like this.

Minnesota will get a lot of player this season and the next so be ready for a full team to compete for a playoff spot. A huge part of the S75 team will stay for next season which means Rayz will have a good talented team moving forward. They must put everything they have to end the season on the high note and keep the momentum for the playoffs. With that many picks though, I’m sure they’re not going to use them all in the draft but they’ll still be able to pick up some good quality players for their retool. And that’s the end for Minnesota.
