Smarch 3,197
VHL Storylines - Chicago Phoenix For this week’s short article in what hopefully continues as a mini-series throughout the season, we are going to take a quick look at the Chicago Phoenix. The Phoenix have now been on the VHL scene since Season Seventy-Three, but are coming off the franchise’s first winning season after the club posted a 37-win season last year, good enough for eight-four points on the season. The regular season was just the beginning for the young club, as the team would catch on fire in the post-season, going all the way to game seven of the Conference Finals against the D.C. Dragons. This season in the first twelve games, the Phoenix are showing the VHL that last season was just the tip of the iceberg, as the team currently sits tied for second place in the league standings with a 9-3 record. Early on so far the Phoenix are being driven offensively by the three headed monster of, Kyl Oferson, Lee Xin, and Matty Socks. The two forwards and defenseman account for sixty-seven of Chicago’s’ point total this season, which also happens to place all three in the top ten in points in the entire VHL. With such a huge amount of points tied up with just three players, one has to wonder what could happen in Chicago if their secondary scoring starts up.
